The Laser Fantasy Legacy

For more than 30 years Laser Fantasy / LFI has been a leader in the laser entertainment industry. A new Chapter of LFI will arrive in 2009 as LFI divides into separate businesses for Artwork / Creative and Laser Display Hardware.

Jay Heck, the Creative Director of LFI, has been with the company for 15 years. Managing one of the largest creative departments in the industry, Mr. Heck’s shows have been displayed around the world. Over the years LFI has achieved nearly 40 international awards for excellence, including a dozen attributed directly to Jay. LFI is known for producing high quality shows, and this tradition will live on. Mr. Heck will continue to serve the creative / artwork needs of the laser community under the business name HECK Industries. The entire LFI library of shows and laser artwork, as well as new material. will be available through HECK Industries.

Alex Hay, Director of Engineering for LFI, has been with the company for more than a dozen years. Alex and his Engineering team have designed and built laser display hardware used on every populated continent. His history includes design of the first laser display controlled over WiFi, the first Ethernet-controlled laser, and the first laser output device with a web interface. Alex has experience with the design and manufacturing of optical systems and electronic controls for displays in all sizes, including work on the laser systems at Grand Coulee Dam and Dayton Ohio, the most powerful full-color laser systems in the world. Mr. Hay will continue to support the hardware needs of current LFI clients and welcomes prospective clients to contact his company, Photon Manufacturing.

Bob Baldridge, the owner of LFI since 2001, is leaving the laser show business to explore other business opportunities.

HECK Industries and Photon Manufacturing will be operating from different locations, but thanks to the power of the internet they will be closely connected. LFI customers can expect more focused service and products from the new companies, maintaining the creativity and legacy of the LFI past. In the near future the websites will be updated, more formal announcements will be made, and a new era in creative laser entertainment will begin.
